The Lions Club of Inala extends its warmest wishes to the community for a happy and safe Easter holiday period. School holidays are always a special time, with families enjoying more time together both at home and out in the community, and for many, continuing the spirit of volunteering and service.

This month, the Club proudly celebrates both collective and individual achievements. President Kylie Gates is organising the Walk for Breast Cancer – Forest Lake 2026, to be held on 8 March around the lake. The Lions team will be showing its support by registering and participating in this important cause. A special congratulations is also extended to the Club’s youngest member, Xavier Hernandez, on his selection to the Saint John Anglican College Senior School Council. Xavier is known for his willingness to serve without expecting anything in return, demonstrating a genuine commitment to his school and the wider community. The Club also warmly welcomes its newest member, Narelle, who is eager to begin her service journey with Lions. Narelle has a particular passion for supporting initiatives that assist those experiencing homelessness and is looking forward to contributing meaningfully to the Club’s work.

With the Citizenship Ceremony now concluded for another year, preparations are well underway for ANZAC Day at I.S.A. Park on 25 April. The community is warmly invited to attend the 9:00am service, with Veteran Bob Richards serving as Master of Ceremonies. Lions members will be setting up early, distributing white crosses, and ensuring the service runs smoothly so that all attendees can pay their respects. Community members are welcome to bring a wreath to lay during the service. At its conclusion, attendees are invited to return to the Blue Fin Fishing Club via the club’s shuttle bus. The Club sincerely thanks the Blue Fin Fishing Club for its ongoing and valued support.

The Lions Club of Inala also encourages the community to save the date for the upcoming Community Night Dinner on 17 March at the Blue Fin Fishing Club. For every main meal over $15.50 purchased on the night, $5 will be returned directly to the participating organisation. It is a simple and enjoyable way for members, families, and supporters to gather, share a meal, and raise valuable funds. The more who attend, the greater the benefit. A further Community Night Dinner is scheduled for 14 July.

In the lead-up to ANZAC Day, the Club sincerely acknowledges Forest Lake Heritage Bank and FLOC for approving its application for a new speaker system to be used during the ANZAC service. In previous years, feedback indicated that some attendees experienced difficulty hearing the proceedings. Thanks to this generous support, this year’s service will ensure clear audio for all in attendance.

The much-loved X-Man Lions Club of Inala Backpack Initiative has commenced once again. This initiative provides school bags and essential supplies to local children who may need a helping hand. Anyone wishing to seek support or refer someone in need is encouraged to contact Lion Nayda Hernandez via the club email.

Additionally, the Club is pleased to announce the establishment of a Community Pantry now operating at the HUB Community Centre, 79 Poinsettia Street, Inala. Donations of non-perishable food items are warmly welcomed.

The Lions Club of Inala remains committed to serving with compassion, integrity, and pride. Community members wishing to contribute can email inalalionsclubinc@gmail.com.
