Forest Lake Men’s Shed
The final countdown to the closure of our Men’s Shed has begun.
After repeated deputations to council for inclusion in the Ellen Grove Precinct development or another site within Forest Lake, we have had no success.
It seems that Men’s Sheds are not deemed “recreation” under the bureaucratic definitions.
January 2026 will be the finish of our lease with Arethusa College and all our equipment will go into a couple of containers until we are resurrected sometime in the future.
We thank everyone for their support and we will continue to “make” things for our community while giving our senior men a place to meet and chat.
Men of all ages are invited to visit our Shed to enjoy our company and participate in activities.
Membership fees are moderate (pro-rata due to our circumstances) and afford you the use of Shed facilities and equipment.
It’s a great place to beat loneliness and learn some new skills, so important to maintaining good physical and mental health.
