I’m incredibly excited to get behind and support the inaugural Southside Seniors Expo, a new initiative that puts our senior community front and centre.
This event is all about celebrating the contributions of older Australians and making sure access is available to the services, support and connections needed to live healthy, independent lives.
On Wednesday 1 October, the Calamvale Community College Sports Hall will come alive with over 80 stallholders, including aged care providers, government agencies, local charities, small businesses and community groups.
From health coordinators to retirement services, emergency responders to legal advisors, the Expo brings together a wealth of knowledge and resources under one roof.
I’m especially pleased to see so many of my federal, state and local colleagues along with community leaders getting behind this event, including Hon Leeanne Enoch MP, Hon Jim Chalmers MP, Julie-Ann Campbell MP, James Martin MP, Cr Emily Kim and Cr Steve Griffiths.
Their involvement shows just how committed we all are to supporting seniors across Brisbane’s Southside.
Entry to the Southside Seniors Expo will be free and features show bags, guest speakers, lucky door prizes and refreshments.
