Pallara and Ellen Grove will receive one new park each, designed for multiple uses, Brisbane City Council has announced.
Construction on the Pallara district sports park is expected to begin in the 2026/2027 financial year, meaning anytime from July 2026. Construction on the Ellen Grove parks precinct will begin a year later, anytime from July 2027.
Environment, Parks and Sustainability Chair Tracy Davis said outdoor community spaces like parks were important to Brisbane and the city’s residents.
“Our parks are at the heart of Brisbane’s lifestyle and residents told us they want safer, family-friendly spaces with great facilities,” Cr Davis said.
“These plans deliver exactly that, with playgrounds, sports fields, and community spaces everyone can enjoy.”
Pallara District Sports Park will include outdoor sports fields, a clubhouse with public facilities, on-site visitor parking, and a dedicated bus drop-off and pick-up zone.
Ellen Grove District Park will include a modern playground designed for families, tennis courts and other court-based sporting areas, picnic shelters and tables, a clubhouse, and community meeting spaces.
Jamboree councilor Sarah Hutton said feedback Brisbane City Council received in the community consultation process was incorporated into the park plans.
“Ellen Grove is one of Brisbane’s fast-growing communities and this new park will give local families a place to play, connect and enjoy the outdoors,” Cr Hutton said.
“It’s exciting to see plans that reflect what residents have asked for and providing somewhere to bring our community together.”
